Threat of Orangutan extinction – Apes in Danger – BBC wildlife

Check out the video by BBC on Youtube.

I have to agree with one of the commenter on biofuel. Example, Malaysia is merging as one of the leading biofuel producer and aim to be the largest biofuel plant in the world.

Every diesel sold in this country already has at least 5% palm oil substance. While development on biodiesel may leave us less dependence on petrol but anything we human do will have consequences to every living thing.

Cut down trees and grows palm oil trees may affect the orangutan habitat but not as nasty as those illegal logging in Sarawak (big possibility) and Indonesia that left the whole areas flatten with nothing left for the orangutan to call home.

Environmentalist should very much helpless if there’s not much of support from the peoples and the government concern in general. I am sure there are better way for the people in the world who love this planet and Orangutans to hand out their support though education and monetary support to the right channel.

In my opinion, this 1 minutes 27 second video isn’t enough to get through the public and may not reflect enough fairness to people of Sarawak who also help to contain Orangutans from extinction.
