Aztech ADSL Modem + Streamyx Installation

My first attempt to apply for broadband line one and half year ago was end up with disappointment – my areas is out of range.

I guess this year is my lucky year, after waited for about a month on a waiting list I finally have my  512k connection. Thanks to the guy that put me on waiting list – Mr. Peter.

My Streamyx package

  • RM66 per month
  • No modem (I bought my modem separately RM120)
  • Activation RM75 (charge to phone bill)

I don’t have much to complain about Streamyx for the moment but StreamyxSuck and ahyap.com seem to have all the fume. Redesignmalaysia has all the update if you want to follow the updates.

The only unhappiness I have right now is my Celcom 3G service – the internet is so unreachable that I have to manually search for 3G connection every time it disconnected. The cost is RM99 per month – the service is not on par as per the rate charges.

Getting a fixed line internet like Streamyx at RM66 and enjoying download speed of between 50 – 70kbps seem to be a good value right now.

Decent performance and hopefully it stay that way for long.

I’m waiting for WiMax to came out next year, I hope the 2 small company which approved by the government to give a better internet service does live up to the expectation and standard.
