Snow Leopard is on shelves worldwide today, 28th August 2009. and… I haven’t got it!
I think we have got very limited copy in Malaysia.
I received email from Apple yesterday to Pre-order Snow Leopard for RM109 (retails)
Switch™ send out email 1 hour ago in announcing the Snow Leopard. Penangite can visit Switch@Gurney Plaza and Switch@Queensbay Mall at 7pm to witness Snow first hand. If you’re lucky you will get to buy the limited copy.
Apple boost the products as — The world’s most advanced OS! Sorry guys, I have to agree with Apple
Cloud Computing sounds very technical and confusing for many. From consumer level, Cloud Computing will change how we use and access our computing needs in the future!
Google already had few apps online that you can test drive and experience how Cloud Computing will benefit you. Lets hope that this service will be free for use for long time, Storage needs will not be always free for sure! (Example Amazon)
I saw Microsoft Office 2010 on a teaser/trailer video last month, Imagine in the future you pay for MS Office software without needing full installation on your local hard disk! That’s should equally be very interesting
The most painstaking process in new system building is installing application software and look for the suitable drivers. I’ve just install Windows 7 RC on my new replacement motherboard. In just few minutes, I have got my Email, word processing, spyware scanner, virus scanner, photo web album and etc ready for use!
Windows 7 Task Bar. As you can see, basic computing needs is all there for free and ready for use.
All these made possible with one single installer, the Google Updater. Very convenience!
Picture: Google Docs. The good thing about Cloud Computing is that you can access virtually from any mobile devices that has access to the internet!
Cloud Computing = browser, No browser no cloud!
People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them. They want their data to be accessible to them wherever they are and not have to worry about losing their computer or forgetting to back up files. Even more importantly, they don’t want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to worry about constant software updates. ~ googleblog
Google Chrome OS will ride the cloud full swing with netbook indefinitely!

I am not sure If I will be owning a netbook with Google Chrome OS or with Windows 7 in the future but due to the nature of netbook was a low-powered computing, making it start up lightning fast (like DVD, CD player) and access application online in second does make whole lot of senses.
In my opinion, it’s still too early for an adoption. Aspect some inconvenience in printing, presentation, viruses, privacy and etc
In the end what I really aspect from cloud would be the convenience to access my data, application, and complete my daily task without any hassle from any devices.
(This one off topic) Matt Mullenweg have a very good voice!
It was 4th August 2009, 5.20pm and I was about to reach Mr. Chin’s house a 3rd/4th stage colon cancer survival hero 4 years ago! Today, He is well and healthy! This man is quite a story!
Just as I turning left and parking my car my phone rang! +8613678941853 display on the screen.
I have to mention that my interest and attention is to the see Mr. Chin and to hear his story to help some one dear to us. Therefore, I am not prepared to pick up a call that may some how too good to be true!
A very friendly yet serious in his own way, He call me by my surname. “Mr. Jong, I’m calling from Beijing and I like to see if you could help or interested in my business! Are you convenience to talk?”
I told him I’m driving and not convenience. He still very friendly and probably with business intention emotion and a smile, he said “I see, why don’t you give me a call back once you are free”
Very spontaneous and a childish acting, feeling displease and uncomfortable yet curious I told him “didn’t you call from Beijing and for me to call you back it would cost a bomb!”
Right there he shoots me deep and hard! Today, I can still feel the pain and I am writing this piece of shit to ease the pain!
He said, “Cost a bomb? I have a big business to runs and I think you are not a RELIABLEBUSINESSMANTOHELPMYINSURANCENEEDS!”
I was shocked and again with my childish acting trying to look for the excuses to cover my hole and that’s where I notice I talk to a noiseless phone and myself! HEBLOODYCUTMEOFF!
Most of you should know that I am an insurance agent by now!
Here’s a few serious questions
Does this guy genuine? Did he being sincere?
How did he know my name? My business? (I only met one Beijing lady friend last 2 weeks. The irony – she is from Beijing and I never gave her my contact but she does know my business but this cannot be too coincident!)
Should I suspect that this is a genuine call and I have just lost a business proposal, probably cost millions?
If he is genuine why did he command me to call back? I have been doing sales all my life, I have never asked my customer or my potential client or any big bosses to call me back with the interest I have on them! My expectation maybe wrong – you can’t always hope people will treat you back the same way you treat other! Did he means well by asking me to call back or he is using his psycho to trick me to call back into believing and agreeing on something I may not intend to commit when I did call back?
I do not like being a loser, losing a business proposal caught with my pants down on a wrong timing! I can honestly tell you, what he point out partly true and I just can’t help myself to ignore the remark.
For better or worse, I should have use a proper and professional manner in showing no interest to his unspecific intention or interest.
Morale of the story, always be prepared for your worse situation every second to secure the golden opportunity.
I learn a great deal of lesson!
(I would really appreciate if you could take sometime to leave your concern on the comments column below)
