Contact is the second album from a band called them self as Thirteen Senses. The album was release last year in April. I just bought it yesterday
I love alternative rock band. I am influence by the sounds of Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, RadioHead, Soul Asylum, coldplay and any band that sounds moody, love & affection, melancholy music almost new age, almost new wave, through the guitar and piano. Apparently they call it piano rock.
Contact’s album covers featuring human head light bulb remind me of how Enigma third album Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi human mechanical cover. Very mysterious and that’s trigger my curiosity.
I listen to the first one minutes of the first song than the second song than I thought they sound very much like Coldplay but softer. I listen to the whole album in a car because I thought they were really good and much better than the last album of Coldplay X&Y. These guys has big influence on Coldplay music by the sound of it.
Their singles “Into The Fire” was featured on the popular TV’s series e.g. ER and Grey’s Anatomy. Oh? I didn’t know that!
This album has only 10 songs, too few! Reading through the biography from their official website they seem to have gone through a tough time creating this album. Anyway, for RM45 this should be 12 songs or 13 songs album.

A lot of silence Here & You and I were not in the album I bought. This is a talented band and the only problems are the quietness of publicity. My personal opinion and perception base on their songs & vocalist, the energy level on a concert may not as good as Coldplay, Keane or Oasis. They can be better than, as good as Coldplay and sing as energetic as Chris Martin.
Thirteen Senses is now on my PC and in my car! Great album! I will try to get hold of the first album, The Invitation.
Thirteen Senses are;
- Will South (vocals, piano, guitar)
- Tom Welham (guitar, vocals)
- Adam Wilson (bass guitar)
