Smart Shopping @ The Spring

I went to The Spring yesterday. I have been wanting to buy a new wallet for quite sometime but I just waited for the right time to buy. What is your secret to shop and buy while not breaking your wallet? I think most of you are pretty good in getting bargain and only shop during discount period. I don’t normally do that. I think this is a guy thing, we see it we want it we get it. We do put a long consideration on things that we would buy for girl though
I like to share with you, my happy moment of shopping for wallet yesterday. This wallet price at RM215 (USD62) and I only pay for it (exactly) RM32 (USD9) wow! Great eh
so what’s the secret? No secret really… I just do what others love to do (some neglect it I know hehehe) Collecting points, redeem gifts vouchers and pay with gifts vouchers.
I have been using Bonuslink card for a long time and of cause I’m using Maybank Credit Card as well. I bring this 2 cards to Parkson Grand @ The Spring to redeem for gifts vouchers. My Bonuslink points allows me to redeem for RM90 and my Maybank credit card points allow me for RM50. Parkson is kind enough to gives 20% discount on my RM215 Guy Laroche wallet so all in all I pay for only RM32 for the wallet.
So what say you my friends? Smart? Hehehe however, does any one of you out there feels that this trick make the items I bought seem down grade the item brand name? I have this feeling that some people do not like to buy things this way because for them only “no class” people do that
Here’s what I do
- Only shop with your credit card that gives you cash rebate or allows you to collect points, in my case, Bonuslink points. Maybank & MBF card would be the best bet to collect extra points.
- Pump your petrol at the station where you get to collect points example @Shell. This is for my Bonuslink point collection.
- Only shop at Parkson when they offer x2, x3 or even x4 points during certain month of pre-sales or any monthly surprise sales that gives you extra points. Sometime they give you gifts vouchers on the spot during this event but these vouchers valid max 1 month.
- I Service my car only at the workshop where I can collect Bonuslink points.
- Concentrate on using cards that give you the best points accumulation and concentrate on only one point system company. @ Bonuslink (If you like RealReward than stick with it…)

I like to highlite about Maybank’s TreatsPoints Hotspot. You don’t need to bring your Maybank credit card to Parkson in order to redeem for the gifts vouchers or gifts. You just need to present your identification card – This is very handy as customer hates the hassle. Oh yah, please remember your Bonuslink password because you need to enter it at the redemption counter.
So do you have any other tips? Happy Shopping ladies and gentlemen!
