The Spring Shopping Mall, Kuching

Welcome to a New Retail Beginning

The Spring Kuching WebsiteThe Spring Shopping Mall” in Kuching was the second (and the biggest) shopping mall in Kuching which open to public on the 10th January 2008. I missed the whole load of fun during the opening if not I’ll be the silly reporter covering the events *laugh* Anyway, Kuching is now officially the shopping haven destination for all the Sarawakian and the surrounding country! (Brunei & Indonesia). I know a friend’s cousin travel by car — all the way from Bintulu to Kuching today to add more traffic jam to the mall.

The Spring Shopping Mall KuchingFor now “The Spring Shopping Mall” is the largest shopping mall in Sarawak but for the next one or two year, Boulevard Shopping mall will take the crown once again. They already have plans in the pipe line to make Boulevard Kuching Shopping Mall as gigantic as possible and promise great families hang out place with all in one roof theme park, shopping and movies. Something like that *smile*

With this gigantic shopping mall, I do like to see more tourists enjoy their time in Kuching, Sarawak. The Spring Shopping Mall reminds me of Australia Fair during my visit to Gold Coast Australia early 2007. This is no surprise to any one who has visited Australia or New Zealand because the company that makes this design possible was from New Zealand!

I can tell that this RM150 Million project is no non-sense project, the finishing of this building, the time they took to decide the build, the originality, and the most important — patrons experience & perception of “Shopping in Kuching” was so 101% “calibrated”! I’m so impress and I just can’t wait to step into this building the next thing on the weekend! Check out The Spring Website, they leave you nothing but a professional family touch! I like the colors and the flora & fauna concept!

The current hype is mostly created by Parkson Grand, with full page news ads, Hitz.fm ads and bunting hanging at the lamp-post for few months along simpang tiga and Kuching bypass are surely created lot of heat! Have you been to Pavilion, KL? Not sure if you would agreed, comparing the two Parkson The Spring is the second grandest after Parkson Pavilion. The only different is Pavilion Parkson is super high class as they (KL people) claims.

Doing anything this weekend? Want to jam the road together? Want to catch the Red Hot hour with special deals? So be at The Spring at the right time and at the right place!

Parkson The Spring offers Free Discount vouchers, 5x bonus link points and I assume credit card is accepted since Public Bank free RM10 Parkson Voucher with purchase above RM120!

    Cherry,

hahahha “ask you to walk with me you don’t want” “See, you had less shopping now?” hahahahah kidding… I think The Spring was indeed a great shopping mall! I was blown away by it because I feel like I’m in KL or Australia. :) So glad that Kuching finally has it own shopping destination.

The last thing I hate to see (if it happens) are people starting loitering and make the whole place drop it standard. On the bright side, Boulevard & The Spring does created lot of opportunities (both shopaholics & jobs) for the local.

Go there today! (ask your sister to bring you together while she is “paktoh-ing” hahahaha

    Cheers & hugs

I love so much the place of The Spring, everytime i pass by or go into it, i feel that The Spring has took me to KL, that’s the only place in Kuching makes me feel that. But the only thing that makes me very unhappy is, why those people like so much to trow coints into the water fountern ? it makes the place looks dirty, and foreign people will say that we are rubbish creater. Come on those people, The Spring is belongs to public, don’t make yourself at your own home too much, please please please and please.

throwing coins into a water fountain is superstition… its supposed to bring you luck if you throw a coin into a water fountain..i am a foreigner i would know..no one will think that its rubbish.. heck.. they might even throw their own coins in the fountain…

You are right about throwing coins is a superstition. If I visit a Chinese Buddha temple I would do the same. I have not tried throwing my own coins to the new water fountain in the shopping complex, it could be fun hehehe! Maybe better luck too!

^.^ can’t wait to see the spring… Sadly i won’t stop by kuching when i return to mukah from kl…

hmm… i think saying the spring will bring kl to kuching is a quite an overstatement. but i myself is not there (at the spring) so i don’t know. However i do respect the ambition. Hope kuching will become the commercial centre of all borneo (and within my lifetime)! \(^o^)/

i hope the catz (org2 kuching) is ready for such a thing, or it will become a city that i know which crumbles under such a change.

I heard there’s a SUB outlet there. I’m so excited! I will always know where to find dinner clothes when i need one ^.^

    Go KUCHING!!!!!

Yes, SUB is @ the Spring. I bought 2 cloth there :)

Just for your info, you might be interested to know that the this coming 2 to 3 month we will have a very grand cineplex here at the spring. I heard they invested some 7 millions to the whole cineplex.

Boulevard Shopping Mall really has nothing interesting to show, their just opening 4th floor looks nothing special to me (may be to others too), it just looks like an ordinary hardware shop even it’s much bigger. Nothing is surprising there. I also notice that many shops and some famous franchises can’t even survive there for a year, they are closed already, very sad !! Now, even more nothing special there, a boring shopping mall. I think Boulevard will never make same standard like tHe Spring do. Why ?

      Hi Jason!

Boulevard targeting low and middle income group patrons. I do not think expensive brand would last. However, you shouldn’t be too sad about it though. Boulevard second phrase would brings more joy to every one! I hope you would like it when the shopping complex completed.

      Thanks for commenting :)

one exception though, if the mall has plainty of computer and gadget, I can never say no to that!
