Trans­former was release in Malaysia (and Sin­ga­pore? Nor­mally at the same time and date) on 28th June 2007 while US on the 3rd Jul 2007 to ride on Pub­lic Hol­i­day on 4th of July. Malaysian Open­ing week is at 817, 000 of admis­sion tick­ets sold (about MYR8 mil­lions) accord­ing to UIP Malaysia.

This is US 2 days box office sold of Trans­former; $65,725,939 (Fan­tas­tic 2 days open­ing fig­ures, I guess the 4th of July must have boost the sales a little)

I real­ize that most movie in the US box office are only hov­er­ing around 300 — 350 mil­lions (below 400 mil­lions). In order to have a 600 mil­lions ($600,743,440 to be exact) mark as per what Titanic had done, you need a repeat cus­tomer and longer week plays (cus­tomer demand). That’s what hap­pens to Titanic! I per­son­ally went for 6 times!

In order to make a 400 mil­lions mark you need fans! George Lucas has lot of fans, yes Star wars fans! I am one of them.

How did James Cameron (Titanic) pull the job is beyond our imag­i­na­tion. My per­sonal believe is that a suc­cess­ful busi­ness lies in our obses­sion on the sub­ject not 100% focus on money mak­ing. James Cameron obses­sion on under­wa­ter shoot­ing has brought us doc­u­men­tary of Titanic, not just the suc­cess­ful movie by itself and had inspired lot of peo­ple on the ROV use and improve­ment on the vehi­cle itself for what­ever rea­son or pur­poses. (ROV was orig­i­nally use by the US Navy for deep-sea res­cue and recov­er­ing object from ocean floor)

George Lucas is another direc­tor who brought Star Wars: Episode I — The Phan­tom Men­ace (1999) to the big screen with the box office sold at US $431,065,444. He is another suc­cess­ful exam­ple who obsesses with sci-fi and sounds (THX was a high tech sounds processing/ cer­ti­fi­ca­tion prod­ucts and trade mark that most of us salute in our home or cinema/theater set up) able to bring more juice to the movie expe­ri­ence. Star wars episode 4 in 1977 (the year I was born) has made the world watch­ing a movie in a whole new dimension.

So in my opin­ion, Trans­former has huge fans base to dou­ble digit the box office collection. So, will trans­former sur­pass the 400k mark? Or 600k mark?

A must watch movie!

I was with few friends over Damai Golf & Coun­try Club last week. Damai is not new to us but yet we were a tourist-a-like amaze by the scenery! (No I don’t play golf hehehe but Speed­cathol­ly­dale loveeee golf and chicken! Check him out)

Guess what hap­pen? We were so hun­gry *LOL* about 5 min­utes drive out there were this very cute small restaurant.

Oh my god! The movie is mind blow­ing! I couldn’t imag­ine how Michael Bay & Steven Spiel­berg not doing a good job for this movie! Imag­ine 2 bril­liant minds put into one and cre­ate some­thing big­ger than Titanic, ET, LOTR, or Pirate of the Caribbean?

I believe this movie going to sur­pass Titanic, LOTR box office sales and of course Harry Potter!
