One and a half year ago, my first tried to apply for broadband line was end up with disappointment because my areas is out of range.
This year however, I learn that the telco can actually put you on a waiting list and they can do something about it should you really interested to have the service. I basically waited for more than one month for this broadband connection. Finally, they have fix me a 512K connection.
Thanks to Peter for making it happen. Any one of you from Kuching, Sarawak interested to have broadband please do let me know I can give you this guy phone number so you can get him to help you with your broadband needs.
My streamyx package (charge to phone bill)
RM66 per month
No modem (I ask Peter to fix for me so he charge me RM120, well for the service he gave)
Activation RM75 (charge to phone bill)
I don’t have much complain for streamyx for the moment but we have others who were really disappointed with the TM service. Check out StreamyxSuck and ahyap.com for the fume. Redesignmalaysia has all the update you may need. However, this doesn’t me that I am 100% happy with the service.
Since Celcom and TM are all the same, I am not happy with Celcom 3G service too. I was using Celcom 3G for few month and I was really disappointed at time that the line was not stable and every minutes or so I have to do manual search for 3G connection. With the unstable connection I have to pay RM99 per month. It’s doesn’t matter if my areas didn’t have the strong signal, they charge me same every month anyway.
So my streamyx was just a better deal at RM66 than Celcom 3G and I can download file from Nvidia at about 50 – 70kbps was just okay. Decent performance and hopefully it stay that way for long.
I’m waiting for WiMax to came out next year, I hope the 2 small company which approved by the government to give a better internet service does live up to the expectation and standard.
